A 38-year-old woman and her five-year-old child narrowly escaped harm after their car caught fire while waiting at a traffic signal in Delhi. The incident occurred around 5:30 pm on Thursday near the Tara Apartment crossing in the capital.
The fire broke out suddenly in the Mercedes while the woman and her child were halted at the signal. Timely intervention by Delhi Police ensured their safe rescue.
As reported by NDTV, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ratan Lal Meena, Constable Rahul, and a traffic police officer quickly reached the spot and pulled the occupants out of the burning vehicle. With the fire spreading rapidly, the police immediately requested a Delhi Jal Board tanker to help control the blaze. Both the police and tanker crew worked together to extinguish the flames and protect people and nearby vehicles.
The woman thanked the Delhi Police, stating that a major tragedy was averted because of their swift response.

The South-East District Police commended the officers for their “bravery” and “promptness.”
