Delhi IGI Airport Advisory: Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Tuesday issued a fresh passenger advisory, warning that dense fog may continue to cause disruptions to some arriving and departing flights. While operations are gradually recovering, delays may persist. Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates.

The airport added that personnel have been deployed at all terminals to help passengers and ensure required assistance. IGI Airport also expressed appreciation to travellers for their patience and cooperation amid the disruption.

“Flight operations are steadily recovering, but disruptions may persist for certain departures and arrivals. For accurate and timely updates, please contact your airline directly. Our personnel are available across terminals to assist passengers and provide necessary support. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding,” Delhi Airport authority posted on X.

IndiGo

IndiGo advisory said that early morning fog during winter across northern India may occasionally slow flight operations. Passengers have been advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport and plan their travel accordingly.

“Due to bad weather(poor visibility) in Ayodhya (AYJ), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via http://spicejet.com/#status,” airline wrote on X. 

Dense Fog In Delhi-NCR Causes Flight Cancellation On Monday 

Low visibility also affected flight operations on Monday, leading to the cancellation of 228 flights, including 131 departures and 97 arrivals, while five flights were diverted to nearby airports, officials said. Air India reported cancelling about 40 flights because of poor visibility, while other carriers, such as IndiGo, did not disclose specific figures on cancellations or delays.

Delhi-NCR Air Quality Today

Meanwhile, Delhi continued to grapple with hazardous air conditions on Tuesday, with the city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 378 around 8 am, placing it in the ‘very poor’ category, according to CPCB data. This marked a slight improvement from Monday, when the AQI had reached 427 in the afternoon, falling in the ‘severe’ category.

Despite the slight improvement, pollution levels remained alarmingly high across much of the national capital, with a thick blanket of toxic smog engulfing the city, sharply reducing visibility and causing widespread discomfort to residents.
