During the winter session of the Delhi Assembly on Thursday, a major uproar was witnessed between MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over an alleged fake video related to the insult of Sikh Gurus. AAP MLAs protested in the House, calling the video fake and accusing the BJP of hatching a conspiracy. AAP MLAs demanded an apology from the BJP MLAs for creating the fake video.

Kapil Mishra Calls Atishi A 'Fugitive'

Meanwhile, on behalf of the government, Minister Kapil Mishra called AAP leader Atishi a 'fugitive', stating that she has insulted the Gurus and is not mustering the courage to face the House. Kapil Mishra said that Atishi has fled the House like a professional criminal after insulting the Gurus. Kejriwal is committing the crime of protecting her in this sin. It's a case of not only committing a wrong but also being defiant about it. God will never forgive Kejriwal for this insult against the Gurus.

House Adjourned Repeatedly Amid Sloganeering

Due to the uproar, the Assembly Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the House for 30 minutes. When the House proceedings resumed after half an hour, BJP MLAs again started shouting slogans demanding an apology from Atishi. BJP MLAs came to the well of the House in front of the Speaker's chair and started chanting slogans of "We will not tolerate the insult of Gurus." As the protest by BJP MLAs did not end, the proceedings of the House had to be adjourned again for 30 minutes.

Speaker Intervention And Continued Deadlock

To end the deadlock, the Assembly Speaker directed Delhi government's Legislative Affairs Minister Pravesh Verma, BJP legislative party's Chief Whip Abhay Verma, AAP's Deputy Leader of the Opposition Mukesh Ahlawat, and former minister Imran Hussain to his chamber and appealed to both sides to cooperate in running the House smoothly. Meanwhile, in the House, AAP MLAs also held a strong protest demanding the resignation of Minister Kapil Mishra, leading to a continuous deadlock throughout the winter session.

As soon as the House proceedings resumed, this time both AAP and BJP MLAs started shouting slogans vigorously against each other. While BJP MLAs were chanting 'We will not tolerate the insult of Gurus' demanding an apology from Atishi, AAP MLAs started shouting slogans against Minister Kapil Mishra, demanding his resignation. With both sides confronting each other, the atmosphere in the House became completely heated and the uproar showed no signs of stopping, forcing the Assembly Speaker to adjourn the proceedings once again for 30 minutes.
