Delhi Biker Death: Weeks after Noida techie Yuvraj Mehta died after falling into a water-filled pit, a similar incident has come to light. A 25-year-old man lost his life in West Delhi’s Janakpuri area after his motorcycle plunged into an uncovered, pool-sized pit, reportedly dug by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) for construction work.

Following the incident, a close of the victim raised serious questions over the police response and alleged foul play, claiming the young man could have been saved and suspecting he was killed.

What Victim's Friend Said?

The deceased has been identified as Kamal, who was returning home in Janakpuri late at night from his workplace in Rohini, when he reportedly fell into an uncovered, pool-sized pit allegedly dug by the Delhi Jal Board for construction work.

Speaking to the news agency ANI, the deceased's friend said Kamal had been in contact with him shortly before he went missing and had informed him that he had reached the District Centre, which is just about 15 minutes away from his home.

When Kamal did not reach home even an hour later, his friends went to the District Centre but could not find him or his motorcycle. The deceased's friend further stated that Kamal's family and friends then approached the police, but no immediate action was taken.

"When we went to the police station to file a complaint, we were told that our complaint would not be registered before 11 am..." the friend alleged.

The friend said the police later helped trace Kamal's last known location and advised to look for him within a 200-metre radius. Despite seven people searching the area from midnight to 7 AM, they could not find him.

They returned home around 7 AM, only to receive a call shortly afterwards from Kamal's phone, with police informing them that his body had been found in the pit. His friend alleged that when they inspected the location around 1 AM, Kamal was not there, and questioned how he was later found at the same location.

The friend also questioned why the phone could not be traced earlier and alleged foul play, suspecting Kamal may have been killed. He expressed deep anguish over the delay, stating, "What must his parents be going through... We still haven't informed his mother... He was 25 years old and worked at the HDFC Bank call centre in Rohini Sector 10..."

After Kamal's body was recovered from the pit, police personnel were deployed, and barricades were placed around the pit. The friend questioned why these safety measures were not in place earlier, stating that timely action could have saved his friend.
