Delhi Blast News: Just minutes away from the blast, Bhavani Shankar Sharma narrowly escaped death in Monday’s Delhi explosion near the Red Fort. He survived because he stepped out of his taxi after receiving a phone call and began walking, unknowingly moving away from the site moments before the explosion. A powerful blast tore through the area that evening, killing at least 12 people and injuring many others. When Sharma turned around, his taxi was engulfed in flames and completely destroyed.

Although Sharma sustained injuries, his condition is stable. While being taken to the hospital, he managed to contact his family to assure them of his safety. According to Jagran.com, his family members, waiting outside Lok Nayak Hospital, were relieved to see him on a video call from inside the hospital.

His brother, Vishnu Sharma, shared that both siblings drive taxis for Ola and Uber. Bhavani had been waiting near the Red Fort for ride bookings when the explosion occurred. Vishnu added that the taxi, now completely wrecked, had been bought on loan and he is now anxious about repaying it and finding a way to buy another vehicle.

A similar tragedy struck Busra Khan, wife of Shahnawaz from Daryaganj. Shahnawaz, who was also injured in the blast, had purchased his taxi to support his family. Standing outside Lok Nayak Hospital with her five-year-old child, Busra broke down repeatedly, saying their taxi was burned beyond repair leaving her desperate about how the family would now survive.
