Amid rising pollution in Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off 100 new electric buses on Thursday. The number of EV buses in the capital has now exceeded 3,500. She also launched an inter-state bus service from Dhaula Kuan to Dharuhera.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this service will reduce dependency on private vehicles and help control pollution. The event was held at the Kashmiri Gate Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT).

Transport Minister Dr Pankaj Singh and senior officials of the department were also present. The Chief Minister said that this initiative is a significant step towards strengthening public transport in Delhi, improving connectivity, and reducing congestion and pollution on major routes. She said that the e-bus service on the Dhaula Kuan-Dharuhera route will strengthen regional connectivity and play a crucial role in Delhi's pollution control efforts.
The Chief Minister said that the Delhi government has taken several important steps to control pollution and strengthen public transport. Automated testing centres for vehicle PUC (Pollution Under Control) checks are being established in the capital at Nand Nagri, Tehkhand, and Burari, where thousands of vehicles will be able to obtain their pollution control certificates.
She announced that a Pink Card facility for women is being launched soon, which will eliminate the need for them to buy tickets repeatedly and allow them to travel easily on any bus. She added that the government is also providing financial assistance to further strengthen the fourth phase of the Delhi Metro and the entire network.

This route will be particularly beneficial for employees, students, and workers in the Gurugram-Manesar industrial area. The route includes major stops such as Dhaula Kuan, Rajokri Border, Gurugram, Kherki Daula, Rampura, Manesar, Panchgaon, Vyaspur YNR, Sidhrawali, and Dharuhera.
Under this service, the DTC will operate three electric buses in each shift. These buses will run daily from Dhaula Kuan to Dharuhera at 6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, and at 2:45 PM, 3:15 PM, and 3:45 PM. Similarly, buses from Dharuhera to Dhaula Kuan will depart at 9:45 AM, 10:15 AM, 10:45 AM, and at 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7:00 PM.
