Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday inaugurated multiple development projects and reviewed ongoing works in the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency. During her visit, she inspected the under-construction Atal Canteen in Haiderpur and assured residents that the long-pending JJ Cluster Ayurvedic Hospital, left incomplete for five years, will be made fully operational within the next two years.

The Chief Minister dedicated several civic facilities to the public in the JJ Cluster, including upgraded CC footpaths and a revamped drainage system, areas that had been struggling with waterlogging and damaged lanes. The project has been completed for Rs 63.12 lakh.

She also inaugurated a 60-seater public convenience centre worth Rs 94.53 lakh and launched new drinking water pipelines installed for Rs 14.76 lakh.

Reiterating her government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and dignified life for all, Gupta laid the foundation for additional development works in Govind Mohalla, including improvements to drains, lanes, and roads, estimated at Rs 51 lakh. She also inaugurated new water pipelines in Saini Dharamshala, Shalimar Village, Ambedkar Nagar, Govind Mohalla, and nearby areas, collectively costing Rs 18.42 lakh. These pipeline projects are expected to ease the persistent water shortage affecting thousands of residents.

The Chief Minister further inspected the ongoing road-widening work at the Shalimar Village chowk and directed officials to expedite its completion. She said the widened stretch will help reduce long-standing traffic congestion and ensure smoother and safer daily commutes for locals.
