In a major administrative reshuffle, the Public Works Department (PWD) has reassigned key responsibilities among senior officials. Principal Chief Engineer Pradeep Gupta has been entrusted with the crucial task of overseeing road maintenance across Delhi, including the flyover sector.
Earlier, road maintenance was under the charge of Principal Chief Engineer Vivekanand Vivek, who was serving in the role of Chief Engineer. However, persistent complaints regarding deteriorating road conditions prompted the government to withdraw the responsibility from him. Vivek has now been assigned additional charge of the department’s project wing along with his duties as Chief Engineer. The move is being viewed as an effort to enhance the department’s performance and accountability.
