A major fire broke out in the main auditorium of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) in Dwarka Sector-16 on Sunday morning.

Emergency Response

The Delhi Fire Services received a report regarding the blaze at approximately 10:42 am. Acting immediately, a senior official confirmed that a robust team was dispatched to the campus. The fleet included:

- Two water tenders

- Three water bowsers

- One skylift

- One Quick Response Vehicle (QRV)

Fire Control And Cooling Operation

Fire brigade teams engaged in strenuous efforts for approximately 38 minutes, bringing the fire completely under control by 11:20 am. Following the containment of the flames, a cooling operation was initiated, which continued for a significant duration to ensure safety.

Casualties And Investigation

Fortunately, there were no reports of any casualties or injuries resulting from the incident. Officials stated that the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined and an investigation is currently underway.
