Aman Thakur, a resident of Dostiyan Ward 8 in the Purnahiya police station area of Sheohar district, was killed in a police encounter in Delhi's Rohini area. He is one of the four criminals who died in the Delhi encounter. Following the news of Aman Thakur's death, his family members have left for Delhi.
Meanwhile, the situation in Dostiyan Ward 8, which is divided into two groups following the murder of Guddu Jha, is once again tense.
It is reported that Aman Thakur was a sharpshooter for the Santosh Jha gang and was carrying out criminal acts on the instructions of 'Kalia', who is lodged in Tihar Jail. He had reportedly returned from "crime training" just a few days ago and entered the world of crime on September 17 by shooting and killing Randhir Jha alias Guddu Jha (32), the son of Devnarayan Jha, in broad daylight in his own village. Ward member Lal Krishna Jha was also injured by a bullet in that incident.
After the incident, responsibility for the murder was claimed in a letter circulated on social media in the name of spokesperson Krishna Jha. The letter stated that Randhir Jha alias Guddu Jha was joining the Mukesh Pathak gang for a small amount of money and was conspiring with members of this gang to murder Rahul Jha. This is why he was murdered.
However, in the FIR filed by Guddu Jha's mother, Mina Devi, she had accused Aman Thakur, Rahul Jha, his brother Madhav Jha (all from the village), and other unknown persons.
Police took swift action, first arresting Madhav Jha and a 'liner' (spotter), Shivesh Kumar, and sending them to jail. Later, Rahul Jha was also caught. All three are in jail. Meanwhile, the main accused, Aman Thakur, remained at large until he was killed in the police encounter in Delhi.
