Delhi Air Pollution: Air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ category, with an AQI of 318 recorded at 8 am on Monday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The 24-hour average AQI stood at 308 on Sunday, as per the CPCB’s 4 pm data, compared to 330 (very poor) on Saturday.
According to CPCB categorisation, an AQI between 0-50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor', and 401-500 'severe'.
Delhi-NCR AQI
Faridabad recorded an AQI of 183 (moderate), while Gurugram reported 286 (poor). Yamuna Nagar registered 184 (moderate), and Firozabad recorded 96 (good). Indirapuram in Ghaziabad reported an AQI of 284 (poor). Gorakhpur registered 141 (moderate), Greater Noida stood at 271 (poor), and Noida recorded a very poor AQI of 348. Muzaffarnagar reported 240 (poor).
Area-Wise AQI In Delhi
Air quality across Delhi remained mostly in the ‘very poor’ category, with several locations recording alarming AQI levels. Areas such as Alipur (322), Anand Vihar (354), Ashok Vihar (338), Burari Crossing (327), Chandni Chowk (321), DTU (344), Dwarka (325), ITO (326), Jahangirpuri (348), Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (323), Mundka (355), Narela (344), Nehru Nagar (349), DU North Campus (325), Okhla Phase-2 (324), Patparganj (340), Punjabi Bagh (334), RK Puram (334), Rohini (346), Siri Fort (329), Sonia Vihar (343), Vivek Vihar (355), Wazirpur (349), Akshardham (354), and Ghazipur (318) all reported very poor air quality.

Meanwhile, several regions fell under the ‘poor’ category, including Bawana (267), IGI Airport T3 (228), IIT Delhi (277), Lodhi Road (292), Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium (294), Mandir Marg (254), NIST Dwarka (223), Najafgarh (291), Shadipur (264), and India Gate and Kartavya Path (294).
Delhi Weather
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 25 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may settle near 9 degrees Celsius, with partly cloudy skies likely on Tuesday, December 9. No major change in temperature is anticipated, though scattered morning fog is possible.
Neighbouring cities such as Noida and Ghaziabad may witness even denser fog, while light fog could develop in Gurugram and Faridabad. In these areas, minimum temperatures are expected to range between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius, with maximums between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius. Mornings will be colder, but sunshine during the day will bring some relief.
