In a bid to tackle the long-standing teacher shortage in Delhi government schools, the Delhi government has announced the recruitment of 5,346 teachers. This follows a previous recruitment drive in September for 1,180 teachers, as part of a larger plan to fill 18,000 teaching positions across government schools.

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has issued the advertisement, and online applications have been invited starting October 9. The Directorate of Education manages 1,075 schools with 8,24,225 students, while an additional 199 aided schools have 74,563 students enrolled.

Officials highlighted that many teaching positions remain vacant, with schools relying heavily on guest teachers over the past few years.
