Delhi Weather Update: The India Meretological Department (IMD) on Monday (Feb 2) issued a very dense to dense fog alert for Delhi NCR as the national capital woke up to thick smog and sharply reduced visibility across several areas. In view of the low-visibility conditions, Delhi Airport released a passenger advisory cautioning travellers about possible flight delays. The fog followed rainfall in parts of Delhi NCR on Sunday morning, which led to a further drop in temperatures, even as brief spells of sunshine were seen later amid cloudy skies.

Flight operations at Delhi Airport are currently being conducted under CAT III conditions due to dense fog, which may lead to delays. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines or visit the airport’s official website for updates. Our on-ground officials are available across all terminals to provide necessary assistance.

Delhi Weather Forecast

February 2-3: Generally to partly cloudy skies with shallow to moderate fog during morning hours. Day temperatures around 18-22 degree celsius, night temperatures 8-12 degree celsius. Winds mainly northerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, with sustained surface winds of 10-20 kmph during the day on February 2.

February 4-5: Partly cloudy conditions continue with shallow to moderate morning fog. Day temperatures near 18-20 degree celsius, night temperatures around 7-10 degree celsius. Winds predominantly northwesterly to northerly, mostly light (0-10 kmph).

February 6: Partly cloudy sky with shallow to moderate fog in the morning. Day temperatures around 19-21 degree celsius and night temperatures 7-9 degree celsius. Winds mainly northwesterly to westerly, light to moderate (5-15 kmph).

February 7: Partly cloudy conditions persist with shallow to moderate fog during morning hours. Day temperatures near 19-21 degree celsius and night temperatures 8-10 degree celsius. Winds generally westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate (5-15 kmph).

AQI In Delhi-NCR

Meanwhile, rainfall in several parts of Delhi NCR during the early hours of Sunday led to a marginal improvement in air quality, with the AQI dropping to the “moderate” category at 193 at 7 am on Monday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), even as several monitoring stations continued to record “poor” to “very poor” levels between 200 and 400.

Delhi’s 24-hour average AQI stood at 265 (poor) at 4 pm on Sunday, improving from 315 (very poor) at the same time on Saturday. The Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS) said air quality is likely to remain in the “poor” category at least till February 10.
