Lionel Messi Delhi Traffic Advisory: In a bid to ease the growing congestion in the capital, the Delhi Traffic Police has announced a series of new traffic measures designed to improve mobility and ensure the safety of commuters. These measures come amid rising concerns about road safety, air pollution, and the need for more efficient urban transport.
Lionel Messi Delhi Traffic Advisory: Check Traffic Restrictions
Delhi traffic police has issued traffic restrictions will be implemented in central Delhi from 10 AM to 5 PM. The restrictions will affect major roads and intersections, particularly around the Arun Jaitley Stadium, as the area will be the focal point of a high-profile event.
Parking will be prohibited around the stadium, with violators subject to towing and fines. Authorities are urging the public to avoid personal vehicles and opt for public transportation options such as the Delhi Metro and public buses to mitigate traffic congestion.
Lionel Messi Delhi Traffic Police Advisory: Check Key Locations Affected by Traffic Measures
The traffic restrictions will impact several key areas in central Delhi, including:
-> Arun Jaitley Stadium: Major roads surrounding the stadium will see traffic diverted, and parking will be strictly prohibited.
-> Connaught Place: As one of the busiest commercial hubs in Delhi, Connaught Place will experience heavy congestion during peak hours. Commuters are advised to avoid the area if possible.
-> Rajpath and India Gate: Given the high-profile nature of the event, roads leading to the iconic India Gate will be closed to non-authorized vehicles.
The Delhi Traffic Police has also warned that heavy security presence will further impact road movement, with checkpoints set up along major routes.
Security will be tight during the event, especially after the chaotic scenes witnessed at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium during Messi's earlier visit. Fans at the Kolkata event were reportedly upset, feeling that VIPs and politicians took too much of Messi’s time, leading to disorder in the stadium.
Despite the tension in Kolkata, Messi’s visit to Hyderabad was smooth and fun, with the star participating in a 7-on-7 exhibition football match with the state’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, and engaging with the local crowd, including meeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Though the Kolkata event was marred by disruptions, Messi’s India tour continues to be a major attraction, drawing thousands of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the football legend.
