The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has invited tenders to allocate commercial space at several stations along the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat regional rail corridor. The initiative proposes to offer approximately 706 square metres of mixed built-up and vacant spaces on a licence basis.
Locations And Specifications
The commercial spaces will be available at 10 locations, including key stations such as Ghaziabad, Duhai, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, Partapur and Shatabdi Nagar. Specific area allocations include:
Ghaziabad Station: Spaces of 120 square metres and 100 square metres.
Partapur Station: A space of 130 square metres.
Usage And Opportunities
The NCRTC is urging participation from local vendors, retailers, and service providers to transform station premises into "people-friendly commercial hubs." The spaces are intended for:
Shops, kiosks, and service centers.
Food and beverage outlets.
Pharmacies and wellness centres.
Shops for regional products and MSME stalls.
Operational Guidelines And Terms
Development: Selected licence holders will be responsible for developing and operating their establishments themselves.
Compliance: Operations must adhere to safety, accessibility, and operational guidelines set by the corporation.
Tenure: The licence period for these spaces will be nine years.
Strategic Impact And Connectivity
The NCRTC views this as an opportunity for businesses to connect with the Namo Bharat project while generating sustainable non-fare revenue. The 82 km long corridor passes through densely populated areas, ensuring high commercial potential due to heavy footfall.
