The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has been awarded the prestigious Platinum rating by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for the Anand Vihar Namo Bharat underground station. This is the highest category awarded under green certification, given for the station's environmental sustainability and green construction.

NCRTC has registered all major premises under the Namo Bharat project, including depots, stations, and receiving sub-stations, with the IGBC. The project was evaluated in six categories: site selection, water and energy efficiency, material conservation, internal environment, and innovation. The Anand Vihar station achieved this accomplishment due to its excellent performance in all these areas.

During the station's construction, NCRTC prioritised low carbon emission technologies, energy-efficient systems, rainwater harvesting, and natural ventilation. Additionally, it has taken the initiative to reduce the carbon footprint through green landscaping under the viaduct.
