SAU Student Sexual Assault Case: Delhi Police registered an FIR after a student of South Asian University (SAU) was allegedly sexually assaulted. Police on Tuesday said a student of SAU was allegedly sexually assaulted and an FIR has been registered in the matter.

TOI quoting sources reported that a security guard, staff member, and two students were accused in the crime. She was reportedly assaulted place near the auditorium, where construction work was underway.

A police team reached the university campus to launch a probe. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan, in an official statement, said a PCR call regarding the incident was received at the Maidan Garhi police station around 3 pm on Monday.

The call was made by someone known to the girl, he added, saying she is currently being counselled. "Based on the statement of the victim, an FIR has been registered under appropriate sections. The matter is being investigated with due sensitivity and priority," the DCP said.

Police Intensify Probe Into Durgapur Gang Rape Case

The Delhi student sexual assault case came to light amid outrage over the Durgapur medical student gang rape issue. In a fresh development in the case, West Bengal Police is set to take the five accused arrested in connection with the gang rape of a medical student to the crime spot on Tuesday for reconstruction of the crime.

The accused would be taken to the crime spot in the jungle adjacent to the Paranaganj Kali Bari cremation ground, which is close to the gates of the private medical college. "As reconstruction of the crime is a vital part of the investigation, we are planning to conduct it... it may take place today," the officer said.

The second-year student hailing from Odisha's Jaleswar was allegedly raped by some men outside the campus of the private medical college in Durgapur on Friday night when she went out with one of her friends for dinner.
