Cricket Ball Weight:  The official weight of a cricket ball is governed by the Laws of Cricket under the rule of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) for most formats of cricket. For men's cricket, the official ball has a standard weight between 5.5 ounces, which is 155.9 grams. For women, the standard weight of a cricket ball is 5.75 ounces, which is 163 grams, according to Net World Sports. This standard weight of the ball makes sure about consistency in the game at professional standards for formats like Test matches, ODIs, and T20 internationals.

Women's cricket balls weigh a little less than those used for men's cricket matches, which weigh around 140 grams to 151 grams. However, the same size does not apply to all ages. For junior cricket, the balls are lighter for players younger than 13 years, weighing around 133 grams to 144 grams.

Apart from weight, the cricket ball circumference is also important and standardised by the authorities. Why Weight Of The Cricket Ball Important?

The particular weight and size of a cricket ball are important because those are the aspects that affect the nature of the ball on the pitch, especially its speed, bounce, and swing. Faster-moving cricket balls and higher-bouncing cricket balls are heavier, which affects bowlers' and batsmen's style.
