Sports Capital of India: As per a popular belief, most of us believe that Haryana is the Sports Capital of India, which is not correct. Haryana has given some of the most phenomenal athletes to the nation, especially wrestlers and boxers, but isn’t labelled as the Sports Capital of India. Do you know which city is known as the ‘Sports Capital of India’ and why? Capital of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, is known as India's Sports Capital, all thanks to its magnificent sports infrastructure and international events.
Bhubaneswar’s reputation as the Sports Capital of India is majorly led by the Kalinga Stadium, which includes a high-performance hockey arena, athletics track, football grounds, and Olympic swimming pools. The multi-sport complex has hosted the Hockey Men's World Cup twice, FIH Pro League matches, and Asian Athletics Championships, which makes it the cornerstone of the Indian sports sector.
