Country With No Mosquitoes: Iceland is the only country in the world where mosquitoes are completely absent. All thanks to its very harsh and unpredictable climate and constant freeze-thaw (freezing and then melting) cycles that never let mosquitoes complete their breeding process. Firstly, mosquito eggs need standing water and stable temperatures to hatch successfully, and such conditions are difficult to find in the Icelandic environment. Alongside its oceanic climate, frequent temperature fluctuations, and certain water chemistries create conditions incompatible with mosquito survival and reproduction.
Geographical isolation means being an island in the North Atlantic, which also acts as a natural barrier to prevent mosquitoes from migrating to Iceland. While it is true that they can occasionally arrive by aeroplane or other means, environmental challenges still stand in the way of building a population. This makes Iceland uniquely mosquito-free among populated countries.

Same way, Antarctica is another mosquito-free zone in the world, all thanks to extreme cold and a general lack of liquid water in the region. However, Antarctica is a continent, not a country and that too without a permanent human population. There are also some other countries with much less mosquito population, but currently, Iceland tops the chart with no mosquito population, according to the World Population Review report.

For tourists and locals looking for a place without the aggravation and possible health consequences of mosquito bites, Iceland provides the best haven due to its breathtaking nature and lack of mosquitoes. However, this status might be so for the present, but not in the future, as scientists warn that climate change may make the conditions in Iceland more amenable to the survival and proliferation of mosquitoes. At last, currently, Iceland is the only country in the world where mosquitoes do not exist due to climatic, geographical, and ecological factors that disrupt the lifecycle of mosquitoes here.
