AFCAT 2026 Notification Out: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially released the AFCAT 02/2026 notification for the recruitment through the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT), NCC Special Entry, and GATE Score Entry. As per the notification, the online application process will begin on May 20, 2026. Eligible candidates must register by June 19, 2026.

Both male and female candidates can apply for AFCAT 2026 across multiple vacancies in the Flying Branch as well as Ground Duty branches, including Technical and Non-Technical categories. Depending on the branch and entry type, the recruitment is being conducted under both Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC).

AFCAT 2026 Notification: Who’s Eligible?

The eligibility criteria vary depending on the posts. For the Ground Duty Technical posts, candidates must have a BTech degree, while for Non-Technical posts, a graduate degree in the relevant discipline is a must.Candidates must be between 20 and 24 years of age, applying for the Flying Branch. 

Applicants for Ground Duty Technical and Non-Technical branches must be between 20 and 26 years old. Age limit will be calculated as of July 1, 2027. As per the recruitment rules and government guidelines, age relaxation is granted to eligible applicants.

AFCAT 2026 Registration: Key Dates

As per the notification, the online registration process for the AFCAT 2026 will begin on May 20. Eligible candidates must log in to the official portal and submit their application form by June 19, 2026. The registration fee is Rs 550 along with GST charges. However, candidates applying under the NCC Special Entry or GATE Score Entry do not need to pay the registration fee.

AFCAT 2026: Selection Process

The AFCAT selection process 2026 includes an online written exam. Those who clear the written exam will be eligible for the Air Force Selection Board process, document verification, and medical examination. Furthermore, first-time applicants appearing before the Air Force Selection Board will also get travel allowance as per the criteria mentioned in the official notification.
