The previous year, in June, the Assam Board published the class 12 results.

Last year, the pass percentage in Arts was 70.12%, 79.57% in Commerce, and 84.96% in Science.

A total of 261231 applicants competed in the Arts stream, with 183180 passing. 46,383 applicants took the Science exam, and 39,405 passed. A total of 20417 applicants from the Commerce stream took the exam, and 16245 passed.

Last year, Sankalpajit Saikia of Ramanujan Senior Secondary School in Nagaon was the Class 12 Arts topper. He received 490 marks. Here's the list of top five:
