AIBE 21 Exam 2026 Today: The Bar Council of India (BCI) is conducting the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 21 today, June 7, 2026, across various examination centres nationwide. The examination is being held in offline pen-and-paper mode and will take place in a single shift from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The AIBE 2026 reporting time is 11:30 AM, and no student will be allowed to enter the exam hall after 1:15 PM. Those who are appearing in the Bar exam XXI must follow the exam day guidelines, dress code and mandatory instructions on the exam day.
AIBE is a mandatory certification examination for law graduates seeking to practice law in India. AIBE 21 Exam 2026: Qualifying Criteria and Certificate of Practice
The AIBE serves as a qualifying examination rather than a ranking-based competitive test. Its primary objective is to evaluate whether candidates possess the fundamental legal knowledge required to practice law professionally.
According to the prescribed criteria, candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories must secure a minimum of 45 per cent marks to qualify. Meanwhile, candidates from SC, ST, and PwD categories are required to obtain at least 40 per cent marks.
Candidates who meet the qualifying standards will be eligible to receive the Certificate of Practice from the Bar Council of India after completing the required formalities.
Important Instructions for Candidates
Candidates appearing for AIBE 21 are advised to strictly follow all examination-day guidelines to avoid inconvenience.
Applicants must carry a printed copy of their admit card along with a valid government-issued photo identity proof. They should arrive at the examination centre well before the reporting time and comply with all instructions issued by invigilators and examination authorities.
Electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and other prohibited items, are not permitted inside the examination hall.
What Happens After the AIBE 21 Exam?
Following the completion of the examination, the Bar Council of India will release the provisional answer key on its official website. Candidates will have an opportunity to review the responses and submit any objections within the stipulated period.
After considering the objections, BCI will publish the final answer key and subsequently announce the results. Candidates who successfully clear AIBE 21 will be awarded the Certificate of Practice, allowing them to practice law in courts across India legally.
