CBSE Board Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made a request for schools to instruct Class 10 and 12 students on the principles and decorum of board examinations for the upcoming 2025 board examinations. Starting on February 15, 2025, the CBSE will conduct the Class 10 and 12 board theory examinations of around 44 lakh students.
CBSE underlined the importance of students understanding the exam process, the dos and don’ts, and the implications in case they don’t abide by instructions.
Key Instructions for Schools:
- Inform students about guidelines and penalties for unfair means (UFM).
- Educate students and parents on exam ethics and associated penalties.
- Advise students not to spread or believe in rumors that could disrupt the smooth conduct of exams.
- Remind students to avoid carrying banned items to the exam center.
- Provide a briefing to exam officials deployed at the centers.
CBSE has further notified that a student will have their present and subsequent year’s exams canceled if found possessing prohibited items (for example, electronic gadgets) or making false claims regarding the exams.

CBSE Board Exam 2025: Allowed, Banned Items, and Dress Code
List of Permitted Items
- Documents: Admit card and school ID (for regular students); Admit card and government-issued photo ID (for private students).
- Stationery: Transparent pouch, geometry/pencil box, blue/royal blue ink/ballpoint/gel pen, scale, writing pad, eraser.
- Other items: Analogue watch, transparent water bottle, metro card, bus pass, money.
List of Banned Items
- Stationery: Textual material (printed or written), bits of paper, calculators, pen drives, log tables (provided by exam centers), electronic pens, scanners. Calculators for Dyscalculia students will be provided by the exam center.
- Communication Devices: Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands, smartwatches, cameras.
- Other Items: Wallets, goggles, handbags, pouches, eatable items (opened or packed) except for diabetic students, and any items that could aid in unfair practices.
Dress Code
- For regular students: School uniform.
- For private students: Light-colored clothes.
