CBSE Board Exam 2025 Update: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will not release a toppers list or division-wise marks for the 2025 board exams, following its established trend from recent years. This decision, initially introduced during the pandemic when results were based on marks secured in online exams, aims to prevent unhealthy competition among students. The board is also expected not to award any division or distinction to students.
Students appearing for the CBSE board exams 2025 must secure at least 33 per cent marks overall and individually in each subject to qualify.
Moreover, CBSE has warned students and teachers about false reports circulating on social media regarding changes to the board exams. The board dismissed claims of a 15 per cent syllabus reduction and the introduction of open book exams for 2025, clarifying that the exam pattern remains unchanged. The date sheet for the Class 10 and 12 board exams will be released soon.

How CBSE 9-point Grading System Works?
CBSE evaluates students using a 9-point grading system, assigning grades from A1 to E based on performance. Grade A1, the highest, is awarded to the top 1/8th of passed candidates, followed by A2 for the next 1/8th, and so on. Subsequent 1/8th groups receive grades B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, and D2. Grade E is given to students who fail the exam. This grading system ensures a standardised and fair evaluation of students’ performance.
