CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Exam Analysis 2026: The Maths exam is now, and students are coming out with varied feedback. Both the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics exams had 38 questions, all of which were compulsory. The question paper is divided into 5 sections- A, B, C, D, and E. Students found the paper a bit challenging.
Some questions were variations of the NCERT exercise questions and were easily solvable. Those who have their concepts clear are expected to score above average.
CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Exam 2026: Question Paper Pattern
The paper was worth 80 marks, while 20 marks were assigned for internal assessment. A total of 38 questions were asked, including MCQs, short, and long-type questions.

CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Exam Analysis 2026: Students’ Feedback
According to students' feedback, today’s paper was moderately difficult. Though the questions were from the prescribed NCERT syllabus, they required lengthy calculations that consumed time. Some questions required concept clarity rather than rote memorization.
Ganesh N, a student of International Residential School (JIRS), Bengaluru, rated the paper as moderate to difficult. He further added that average and below-average students may find it difficult to score higher marks.
From the same school, another student, Chinmay Sharma, said that the case-based questions could be solved effectively once the context of the problem was properly understood. The overall difficulty level was moderate, evaluating students’ conceptual understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Exam Analysis 2026: Expert’s Analysis
Subject experts and teachers have analyzed the Social Science paper and rated it as moderately easy. According to them, those who have followed the NCERT syllabus diligently have attempted the paper confidently.
Pankaj Kumar Gupta, HOD Mathematics, VidyaGyan School, Sitapur, analysed the question papers of Mathematics (041) and remarked that the questions were easy, with a few of them requiring lengthy calculations.
All three sets were of the same difficulty with little variation in the types of questions. Some questions were variations of NCERT exercise questions but followed the CBSE curriculum.
