CLAT 2025: The Delhi High Court has instructed the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) to review the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 merit list, which was issued on December 7, 2024. The court ruling followed a writ suit filed on December 7, 2024, challenging the CLAT 2025 final answer key and requesting a revision of the petitioner's score.
The petitioner further asks a mandamus directing the respondent to announce the right answers to questions 14, 37, 67, 68, and 100 of Question Paper Set-A.
The petition questioned the CLAT 2025 provisional answer key for questions 14, 37, 67, 68, 89, 99, 100, and 102, and the expert committee upheld the petitioner's concerns on questions 89, 99, and 102, resulting in changes to the final answer key.
The petitioner alleged that, in addition to releasing the CLAT 2025 final answer key, the respondent published a notification declaring the formation of a Grievance Redressal Committee to resolve any CLAT 2025-related issues filed by candidates.

On December 9, 2024, the petitioner filed a lengthy representation pointing out differences in the questions, the grading procedure, and mistakes in the final answer key.
The court supported the petitioner's claim concerning question number 14 and ordered that the results be altered to give marks by the marking scheme. Since the court certified option 'C' as the proper response, aligning with the Expert Committee's view, the benefit will be extended to all candidates who chose option 'C', not only the petitioner.
Concerning question number 100, the court accepted the Expert Committee's suggestion to omit the question, and the outcome would be changed accordingly.
The NLU has announced that it is meeting with legal experts to choose the future steps and that the publishing of the first admittance list, which was slated for December 26, will be delayed. “We acknowledge that this development may create some uncertainty, and we assure you that the Consortium is committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in the process. Consequently, the release of the first admission list for NLUS, originally scheduled for December 26, is likely to be delayed,” NLU informed.
