Delhi School Mobile Policy 2023: The Directorate of Education (DoE) on Thursday stated that mobile phones are strictly prohibited within the classrooms of both Delhi government schools and private schools for students.

Teachers and other staff members have also been asked to refrain from using mobile phones in locations such as classrooms, playgrounds, laboratories, and libraries, where teaching and learning activities are conducted.

"Parents should ensure that their children do not bring mobile phones into the school premises. If students bring mobile phones to school, then the school authority should arrange to keep them in a locker and return the mobile phones to the students after school," a DoE circular reads.

All government and private schools in Delhi have been directed to establish helpline numbers, which students and parents can contact in case of emergencies, as per the issued advisory.

In another development, according to an official circular, Delhi government schools' teachers will record student attendance online using tablets or the school computer system. The manual attendance will not be considered anymore. The attendance record will have a bearing on final examinations.

"Online attendance records will be considered final for examinations. The attendance data of the students submitted online by the class teacher and school will be reflected at HQ level," the DoE said.
