Delhi University UG Admission 2026: DU Undergraduate CSAS Registration Likely To Begin In Third Week of May

CUET UG 2026 Registration Dates:  Admissions to undergraduate programmes at Delhi University are likely to start from the third week of May, shortly after the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026 begins, officials confirmed on Monday.

The university will conduct its entire admission process through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. This process typically takes place in multiple phases, with the initial phase focusing on student registration and profile building.

CUET-UG 2026 Schedule and CSAS Integration:

The admission through the CSAS portal is heavily dependent on CUET results. Following the exams, students will be required to apply for eligible subjects after a mandatory subject mapping process. According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), the CUET-UG 2026 is tentatively scheduled to take place between May 11 and May 31.

DU Dean of Admission, Haneet Gandhi, told PTI, "The registration process for DU will begin once the CUET exams start, so hopefully, we will open the portal around the third week of May. Our primary focus is on finishing the admission on time so classes can begin at the earliest."

Streamlining the Allocation Process:

To prevent academic delays that have concerned faculty in recent years, the university is aiming to shorten the seat allocation window. "We will try to shorten the allocation period as much as possible. Even if one or two days are adjusted per round, that should be enough," Gandhi added. Furthermore, the university is working to make the CSAS portal more "student-friendly" by adding automated prompts to guide applicants and reduce manual errors.

Mandatory Subject Mapping Requirements:

The Dean of Admissions urged students to choose their CUET paper subjects strictly based on what they studied in Class 12. For successful subject mapping,a crucial step for DU admission, at least 50% similarity between Class 12 subjects and CUET papers is required. This ensures that students are eligible for the specific courses they are applying for within the Delhi University ecosystem
