St Stephen's Revised Fee Structure: St Stephen's College has recently released its revised fee structure for the 2025-26 academic session for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses. The fees vary based on the course, category, and eligibility, including provisions for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), staff wards, and SC, ST, EWS, and martyr's children.

Delhi University's St Stephe's College has introduced a Dual-Payment System for the first-year student. students are advised that DU fees (Annual Fee) must be paid through the DU Admission Portal/Website, while college fees (Semester Fee) are payable after joining the college.

St. Stephen's Fee Hike: A 230% Jump

As per the college’s official fee notice, first-year students are being asked to pay between Rs 11,551 and Rs 11,630 as the DU component of their fees. This amount is more than three times the university’s official annual share of Rs 3,500. The change has led to a sharp rise of over 230 per cent, resulting in an excess of around Rs 8,000 per student, marking a significant 230 per cent increase.

With approximately 400 new students enrolled, the total overcharge amounts to around Rs 32 lakh. For students with disabilities (PwD), the college listed the DU fee as Rs 1,150, compared to the official Rs 875—an overage of 31 per cent.

DU Unaware of Fee Hike:

Delhi University officials said they had no prior knowledge of the change. Dean of Admissions, Haneet Gandhi, told media that there is only one official payment process throughthe DU portal. The university keeps its Rs 3,500 share and transfers the remaining amount to college. Gandhi said the overcharge was "the college's fault" and added that St Stephen's should correct it.

The recent fee hike comes amid an ongoing dispute between the University of Delhi and St. Stephen's College over the issue of administrative autonomy and adherence to university rules and regulations.
