GATE 2024 Exam Preparation Tips:  The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Exam (GATE) is a highly competitive exam conducted jointly by the seven oldest IITs and IISc, Bangalore. The standardised exam acts as a gateway to secure top seats in Master's programs in engineering and high-paying government jobs in the public sector. But cracking those IIT seats and PSU jobs requires you to score very high marks in your GATE exam. Solving the previous year's GATE papers is one of the best ways to succeed in this examination. Solving these papers will give you a good idea of the score distribution, the number of questions in each area, and the overall structure of the exam. Armed with this knowledge, you can plan your preparation more effectively and allocate time to different parts or topics as needed.

2. Improve time management skills:  Solving the previous year's GATE exams will teach you to manage your time effectively during the actual exam. You can practice solving questions within the given time frame and identify areas where you need to improve your speed. Therefore, this can certainly assist you in determining strategies so that you can maximise your time during the exam and ensure that you can complete all the questions within the allotted time.

3. Identify your weaknesses and strengths:  Recognising your strengths and weaknesses is a key part of your GATE prep. It is, therefore, helpful to take the previous year's GATE tests to identify which topics or areas you struggle with and need to focus more on.
