IIT Baba Abhay Singh Academic Journey: Several unique stories from Mahakumbh are gaining traction on social media, and one saint capturing significant attention is Abhay Singh. Known as the “IITian Baba,” he claims to hold a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.

IIT Bombay, one of the country’s most renowned institutions, admits only the top-ranked students from the IIT-JEE exam. Graduates from this institute are praised for securing record-breaking, high-paying job offers.

Born and raised in Haryana, Abhay Singh shares that his thirst for knowledge extended beyond engineering, leading him to explore Sanskrit and its uniqueness. He spent four years at IIT Bombay, later shifting to the arts by pursuing a Master’s in Design and working in photography. Moreover, he coached students in Physics. His journey eventually led him to philosophy, where he studied Post-Modernism, Socrates, and Plato to seek the meaning of life. After trying various careers, he returned home to focus on life’s simpler aspects.

Reflecting on his journey, Abhay Singh credits his background in aerospace engineering for sharpening his logical thinking and reasoning skills. He believes that while science builds IQ, art nurtures emotional intelligence (EQ), and both are essential for a balanced life.

According to media reports, he secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 731 in the 2008 JEE exam, though this claim has not been independently verified. IIT Bombay continues to be a top choice for JEE toppers. In 2024, 72 of the top 100 JEE (Advanced) rankers chose the institute. Data from IIT Madras shows that 179 of the top 500 rankers selected IIT Bombay, followed by 109 choosing IIT Delhi and 69 opting for IIT Madras.

In a recent interview, Abhay Singh revealed that he lived in Canada for three years, earning a salary of Rs 36 lakh per annum. Despite his promising career, he eventually left it behind to pursue a path of spirituality.
