JNU PhD admissions 2025-26: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of India's premier academic institutions, has opened its PhD admission portal for the 2025–26 academic session. Candidates can apply for admission under three entry categories: JRF, NET, and GATE (only for the School of Engineering). Interested applicants must ensure they fulfill both academic and entrance eligibility as per the university’s e-Prospectus.

The deadline to apply is July 7, 2025 (11:50 PM). Only online applications are accepted through the official website  Applicants can choose up to three programs and must apply separately under each category they’re eligible for. No candidate will be considered without valid credentials in the mentioned national-level exams.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Qualification:

    • 55% marks in Master’s or M.Phil

  • Or 75% in 4-year Bachelor’s degree

  • 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates

  • Entrance Requirements:

    • Valid JRF, NET, or GATE score as applicable

    • Separate application needed for each qualifying category

    • Choose your preferred PhD programs (up to three choices)

    • Upload required documents and pay the application fee
