NEP 2020 In KVS Section:  The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has directed all Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country to maintain at least one dedicated Sanskrit section in Classes 6 and 9 as part of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The move is aimed at strengthening the teaching and learning of classical Indian languages and promoting India's rich linguistic heritage among students.

The latest directive aligns with the vision of NEP 2020, which emphasises multilingual education and greater exposure to Indian languages. Officials believe that expanding Sanskrit education in schools will help students gain a deeper understanding of the country's cultural and linguistic traditions while promoting holistic learning.

KVS Issues Fresh Directive for Sanskrit Sections

According to the new instructions, every Kendriya Vidyalaya will be required to maintain at least one dedicated Sanskrit section in Classes 6 and 9. The initiative is expected to provide wider access to Sanskrit education and encourage students to study one of India's oldest classical languages.

Move Aligned With National Education Policy 2020

The National Education Policy 2020 places significant emphasis on preserving and promoting Indian languages and cultural values. The introduction of mandatory Sanskrit sections is part of KVS's efforts to translate the policy's vision into classroom teaching across its nationwide network of schools.

What the New Rule Means for Students

Under the new arrangement, students in Classes 6 and 9 will have access to dedicated Sanskrit sections in every Kendriya Vidyalaya.
