The state-run Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has launched an ambitious initiative to provide support and guidance to over 8,00,000 public school students as they prepare for various undergraduate entrance exams. Named 'Key to Entrance,' the program was inaugurated by General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Saturday.
KITE, the technology arm of the General Education Department of Kerala, aims to expand educational opportunities for students in the Science, Humanities, and Commerce streams, according to an official statement released on Sunday.
According to media reports, the dedicated portal for the initiative, entrance.kite.kerala.gov.in, offers free login access to higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students of government and aided schools. It provides a wide range of learning resources, including question papers, assignments, and mock tests. These materials will be accessible following daily live classes, which will begin broadcasting on the KITE VICTERS channel from September 30, with simultaneous streaming on two PM eVidya channels exclusively for Kerala.
Students who miss the live sessions can catch up later on the KITE YouTube channel. Initially, the program will cover a variety of subjects, including Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Business Studies, English, and Geography, with plans to expand into other subjects in the future.
Each class will offer self-assessment opportunities, helping students track their progress and identify areas for improvement. Continuous evaluation will be supported through online model exams to ensure effective learning outcomes.
