School Holiday Updates: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has officially declared an urgent school holiday for July 6, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues a critical red alert forecasting exceptionally heavy rainfall. Local authorities finalised the safety suspension to protect student populations across the region as intense weather system indicators spike. This administrative directive directly mirrors parallel emergency closures enacted across adjacent urban zones, including Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai, where dangerous local monsoonal flooding conditions continue to threaten standard road commutes.

Mumbai Limits: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that all government, private, and civic body-run schools and colleges will remain completely shuttered on Monday due to an orange alert predicting harsh winds and heavy downpours.

Thane Jurisdiction: District Collector Shrikrishnath Panchal formally directed that all localized Anganwadis, Balwadis, primary schools, and secondary schools stay closed to keep children safe from flash flooding hazards.

Navi Mumbai Sector: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) similarly enacted a blanket academic holiday, with Mayor Sujata Patil and Commissioner Kailas Shinde appealing to the public to stay strictly indoors.
