NEET UG Counselling 2024: During the July 18 hearing regarding the NEET UG result cancellation and re-exam petitions, the National Testing Agency (NTA) informed the Supreme Court of India that the online counselling process for undergraduate medical course admissions is expected to start on July 24.
The Supreme Court had instructed the agency to release center-wise NEET UG results while safeguarding candidates' identities and scheduled the next hearing for July 22, just two days before the expected start of the online counseling process.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and state counseling bodies are expected to release notifications and schedules for both All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota medical counseling soon.
Once the NEET UG counseling begins, candidates must log in to mcc.nic.in using their credentials to register and select their choices. Candidates must note that to carefully review the counseling scheme outlined in the information bulletin before registering. They should also consult the user guide and review the number of seats available at various medical colleges to create a preference list prior to making their choices.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) oversees NEET UG counseling for 15 percent of All India Quota seats, as well as for 100 percent of seats at deemed universities, central universities (including DU, AMU, and BHU), ESIC, AFMC, IP University, AIIMS, and JIPMER institutions. Moreover, MCC conducts online counseling for BSc Nursing at central institutions. The MCC NEET counseling process consists of three main rounds followed by a stray vacancy round.
