NEET UG 2024 Topper: Tathagat Avatar from Madhubani, Bihar, has secured All-India Rank 1 in the NEET UG 2024, achieving a perfect score of 720 out of 720. The NTA announced the NEET UG 2024 results on June 4, revealing that 67 students have been awarded NEET All India Rank (AIR) 1.
NEET All India Rank 1 holder Tathagat had been preparing for NEET 2024 through PW's online classes. This marked his third attempt after two previous drops. In 2023, he scored 611 as he was unable to complete his exam.
"This was my third attempt at clearing NEET. For this attempt, I decided to focus and prepare online only. I was familiar with PW and Alakh Pandey sir from back when I was in Class 9th. I used to like the way their lectures were conducted. I decided to study from the content provided on the platform and used the content provided by them to boost my preparation. Another technique that worked for me was to join an offline test series. Last time, I couldn't complete the exam and I wanted to practice more and more this time around," Tathagat said.
When discussing time management during NEET preparation, he explained," As this was my third attempt, I was already pretty familiar with the subjects and topics. The only things that I did to effectively manage my time was to block all distractions and just complete as many test series as possible. I completed more than 100 mock tests which ensured that I was able to attempt all questions within the allotted time."
"I started prep from class 12th and joined PW Lakshya batch and which helped me score 526. Then I took a drop year and joined PW yakeen batch for my second attempt but missed part of my paper and scored only 611. For my third attempt, I stayed home and took help from PW whenever necessary. I found my online preparation strategy to be much ahead and it gave me more time to practice later," further added.

Tathagat advises NEET aspirants to trust their teachers, prioritise test series - joining either online or offline, attempt tricky questions towards the end to avoid initial time wastage, emphasise revision, maintain confidence without allowing self-doubt, and regard Class 11 with utmost seriousness.
He emphasised the critical need for more doctors in India, " India does need doctors. Covid showed us that we lack doctors. Also, we need to increase the infrastructure to support a pandemic so that everyone can receive fair treatment."
