Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled several initiatives during a government event held in Mahbubnagar on Sunday. Among these announcements was the allocation of Rs 900 crore for the establishment of a central tribal university in Mulugu district, which will be called the "Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University" in honor of the revered tribal deities Sammakka and Sarakka.

"The Union government will set up a central tribal university in Mulugu, which will be named after tribal goddesses Sammakka and Sarakka. An allocation of ₹ 900 crores has been made for this initiative. I express my gratitude to the people of Telangana for their love," PM Modi said.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the establishment of the National Turmeric Board in Nizamabad. He also marked the inauguration and foundation for multiple development initiatives exceeding a total worth of over Rs 13,500 crore, encompassing sectors like transportation, petroleum, natural gas, and higher education.

“Today, it is necessary to take initiative in a more professional way on the whole turmeric value chain, from production to export and research. The central government has decided to set up the National Turmeric Board in the interest of turmeric farmers, keeping in view their needs and their future possibilities,” Modi said.

At the event, Prime Minister Modi initiated a train service, running along the Hyderabad (Kacheguda) - Raichur - Hyderabad (Kacheguda) route, commencing from Krishna station. This service establishes a vital connection between Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet districts in Telangana with Raichur district in Karnataka, and the inauguration was carried out through a video conferencing session.
