Ratan Tata Education Qualification: Ratan Tata, the 86-year-old Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away on Wednesday night in Mumbai. Ratan Tata developed Tata Sons into a global giant during his two decades as Chairman, through strategic acquisitions and expansion into new markets.
Ratan Tata was born December 28, 1937. Ratan Tata's father, Naval Tata, and mother, Sooni Tata, separated when he was 10 years old. He was reared by his grandmother, Navajbai Tata.
Ratan Tata Education Qualification
Ratan Tata attended both Campion School and John Connon School in Mumbai. He finished his education at Bishop Cotton School in Shimla. At the age of 17, he enrolled in Cornell University's BA (Bachelor of Architecture) program and graduated in 1962. After working for a few years, he enrolled in Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program in 1975.
Ratan Tata Iconic Career Path
Ratan Tata began his career as an assistant at Tata Industries shortly after graduating. He finished his six-month training at the Jamshedpur plant of Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company, today known as TATA Motors. This experience offered him a unique perspective on the people who drove India's economic boom. He was named chairman of Tata Industries. He took over Tata Sons and Tata Trusts in 1991. In 2008, he received India's second-highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan. In 2012, he resigned as Chairman of TATA Sons and was designated Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons. His net worth is valued at Rs 3600 crore.
How Ratan Tata Made Tata Group's Future?
Ratan Tata, 75, stepped down as Chairman of Tata Sons in 2012, and Cyrus Mistry was chosen as his replacement. However, Mistry was dismissed in 2016, and control of Tata Sons returned to Ratan Tata, who served as interim Chairman until N Chandrasekaran was hand-picked to manage the business.
Earlier in an interview with a media outlet, Ratan Tata said, “Apart from values and ethics which I have tried to live by, the legacy I would like to leave behind is a very simple one – that I have always stood up for what I consider to be the right thing, and I have tried to be as fair and equitable as I could be."
