SBI Clerk Exam 2026: The State Bank of India has announced 1,538 vacancies for SC/ST/OBC backlog vacancies. Only candidates belonging to these categories can apply for the SBI Clerk recruitment 2026. Registrations have begun from August 7 on the bank’s official portal at sbi.bank.in. The application will run for a total span of 20 days and will conclude on August 27, 2026. Any graduate from a recognized university between 20 and 28 years old is eligible to apply for the SBI Clerk exam. For state/UT, applicants must be proficient in the local language. Furthermore, nationality and age requirements must follow standard banking norms.

SBI Clerk Selection Process 2026

The selection process includes Prelims, Mains, and Language Proficiency Test. Applicants need to clear each stage to get the final allotment letter. The Prelims exam consists of 100 MCQ questions, carrying 1 mark each. The test will be held in CBT mode for 1 hour. Qualifying candidates will appear for the Mains examination.  It carries a total of 200 marks and lasts for 2 hours and 40 minutes. The Language proficiency test is a qualifying test where candidates’ language skills will be assessed.
