Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar are on IMD red alert for today i.e. September 2. Due to this, schools are likely to remain closed in some areas affected by floods and waterlogging tomorrow as well. However, there is no official information about school holidays for September 3, 2025 in Uttarakhand.

Heavy monsoon rainfall has prompted the Himachal Pradesh government to order school closures across multiple districts, including Shimla, Solan, and Bilaspur, for September 2, 2025. The decision, made in the interest of student and staff safety, follows multiple landslide warnings and forecasts of further intense downpours by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

All government and private schools have been closed on September 1 in view of the incessant rains and the threat of landslides in the Jammu division. Cloudbursts and flash floods have caused trouble for the people here for the last few days. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Board (JKBOSE) has also postponed the private half-yearly examinations of class 10th and 11th for the time being. New dates will be announced later.
