Flood-like conditions have developed in Mathura district. The water level of the Yamuna river is rising rapidly and many areas are waterlogged, due to which water has entered some schools as well. In view of the situation, the District Basic Education Officer (BSA) has declared a holiday in all schools up to class 12 on Wednesday and Thursday (3 and 4 September). All schools up to class 12 have been closed.

Punjab: Schools closed due to floods

Status: All government, aided, recognised and private schools will remain closed through Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Reason: This holiday extension is due to ongoing floods and waterlogging issues affecting several districts. 

Schools in Uttarakhand and some districts of Uttar Pradesh are closed because of rain and landslide risk. Officials will give updates for each district after checking Monday’s weather.

All government and private schools will remain closed until at least Wednesday, September 3, 2025, due to ongoing flood conditions.

Following heavy flood conditions, all government and private schools in Punjab will remain closed until at least Wednesday, September 3.

# The director of the School Education (DSE) of the Jammu region, Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, issued the order, asserting that the safety of students and staff remains the top priority.
