Tamil Nadu Rains: As incessant heavy rainfall battered the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, all schools and colleges in Tiruvallur district will be closed on Thursday, November 30, an official said on Wednesday.

"As India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning tomorrow (30.11.2023), all schools and colleges in Tiruvallur District will be closed for the benefit of students," Tiruvallur Collector said as quoted by news agency ANI.

Earleir today, Chennai and other northern coastal regions of Tamil Nadu received heavy rainfall due to which several parts of the city witnessed waterlogging and traffic congestion. 

Besides heavy traffic congestion, the intermittent heavy rains led to inundation in the districts of Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengelpet. There were disruptions to vehicular traffic in a number of locations, including Sholinganallur along the IT corridor.

Heavy Rainfall Liklely In Andhra Pradesh Till December 5

Parts of Andhra Pradesh are expected to get thunderstorms and heavy rainfall till December 5 due to a low-pressure region in the Bay of Bengal, the Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.

On Sunday, the IMD predicted that there would be thunderstorms with lightning in some areas of north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema, as well as heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in other portions of south coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.

As winter tightens its grip on North India, including Delhi-NCR, the Met department is predicting more frigid weather in the days ahead. People are advised to take caution as a considerable impact is predicted for the first week of December.
