Telangana School Holiday: The Collector of Hyderabad declared today, November 29, and tomorrow, November 30, to be public holidays. According to the media reports, the closure of schools was prompted because of a large number of teachers roughly 80 per cent of them were scheduled to participate in election duty on November 30, which is the reason for the closure of all educational institutions in Hyderabad. On December 1, all schools and colleges will resume regular classes. Parents and students who have any questions or concerns regarding the Telangana school holidays should contact the school administration.

Collector Hyderabad wrote on the microblogging platform X, ''In view of the Telangana Assembly Elections 2023, all educational institutions in Hyderabad district will remain closed on 29th and 30th Nov 2023. Regular activities resume on 1 Dec 2023.’’

Earlier, a public holiday for all Telangana workers and employees was announced by the state government in light of the upcoming assembly elections on November 30.

Institutions in Hyderabad have also informed parents that the state Assembly elections were the reason behind the decision to keep schools closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

It is expected that Telangana schools will be closed for at least seven days in December. This includes the five Sundays in the month as well as the holidays for Boxing Day and Christmas, which are on December 25 and 26, respectively. The government has announced a one-day holiday for Christmas, but missionary schools in Hyderabad and other parts of the state are expected to be closed for five days from December 22 to 26. Students and parents are advised to check the school calendar for more details.
