UPSC Success Stories: People strive diligently to become IAS officers, and for some individuals, self-doubt persists despite their hard work. Such was the case for Saumya Pandey, a native of Prayagraj. In a viral video on social media, Saumya shares her experience of checking the UPSC final result. Initially, she started looking for her name from the bottom of the list and, not finding it, felt disheartened. However, when she checked from the top, she was overjoyed to discover that not only did she pass the UPSC Civil Services Examination, but she also secured the top position with the All India 4th rank.

Saumya Pandey, an IAS officer from the 2016 batch, successfully cracked the UPSC in her first attempt. Her academic record includes impressive achievements with 98 per cent marks in class 10, 97.8 per cent in class 12, and a gold medal in engineering college.

Recalling her experience, Saumya mentions downloading the UPSC Civil Services Exam Result PDF in 2017 but lacking the courage to check the names. Her mother suggested starting from the bottom, and when her name didn't appear, Saumya decided to prepare better for the next attempt. However, her mother insisted on checking the list of toppers, leading to the joyous revelation that Saumya had secured a top position. Currently serving in Uttar Pradesh, Saumya emphasises starting prelims preparation from the basics, highlighting the importance of using NCERT books for this purpose.
