Year Ender 2023: The year 2023 brought with it several career prospects for both new and experienced workers. Vacancies for both the Union and state administrations numbered in the thousands.

We take a look back at the key government job openings that defined the year, highlighting those with the most vacancies. These opportunities ranged from police to teaching, banking and law to administrative, and were available in various states in the country.

Their overall impact was enormous in moulding the ever-changing employment situation throughout the year.

Here is a list of high-demand employment openings to consider. These were the year's highlights, and they might help to understand the employment patterns that defined it.

- SSC Constable (GD): 26,000+ posts

- SSC CGL: 8,000 vacancies

- BPSC TRE: 1.7+ posts

- BPSC TRE 2.0: 69,500+ vacancies

- SBI Clerk: 8,773 posts

- UP Police Constable: 60,000+ vacancies

- JSSC Assistant Teacher: 26,000 posts

- Bombay High Court (Junior Clerk, Steno): 5,700+ vacancies

- SBI Circle Based Officer (CBO): 5,280 posts

- Assam Direct recruitment: 12,600 vacancies

- North Eastern Railway Apprentices: 1,104 posts

These are just a few of the various career options that were available this year. Only a few of these job fairs required experienced experts to apply. Overall, occupations with the most vacancies often require a minimum graduate degree in any field, with little to no experience required to apply.

Civil servants are the most sought-after government jobs in the country. According to media projections, the number of candidates taking the UPSC Civil Services exam in 2023 will have climbed significantly. According to reports, the number of applicants taking the UPSC CSE Prelims in 2023 would be between 10 to 12 lakh, while the number of candidates taking the UPSC CSE Prelims in 2022 was between 8 to 9 lakh.
