Bengaluru Election News: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has won Bengaluru, securing victories in all four Lok Sabha constituencies in the city. Previously, in 2019 general elections, the party had won three out of the four seats. In a marked improvement from the party's performance, the BJP has now managed to wrest control of the Bengaluru Rural seat from the Congress party.

The BJP's success in the state capital stands in contrast to the Congress party's comfortable win in the recent Karnataka Assembly elections, where it secured a comfortable majority across the state.

The BJP has replaced its 2019 candidate, former Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda, with Shobha Karandlaje in the Bengaluru North constituency. Karandlaje, a non-local face, secured a comfortable win over the Congress' Rajeev Gowda, a renowned economist, by a margin of 259,476 votes.

Bangalore Central: PC Mohan Holds on to Seat

The Bengaluru Central seat witnessed a close contest between the BJP's PC Mohan, the incumbent MP and the Congress' Mansoor Ali Khan. After initial rounds of counting put Khan in the lead, Mohan eventually emerged victorious, winning by a margin of 32,707 votes.

Bangalore Rural: BJP Wrests Seat from Congress

The Bengaluru Rural seat, a bastion of the Congress party, has now fallen into the BJP's hands. The saffron party forged an alliance with the Janata Dal (Secular) and fielded CN Manjunath, a renowned cardiologist and the nephew of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, to take on the Congress' DK Suresh, the sitting MP and the brother of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Manjunath emerged victorious by a margin of 269,647 votes, the second-highest majority among the four Bengaluru constituencies.

BJP's Success In Bengaluru: Key Factors

The party's ability to effectively mobilise its core voter base and appeal to the city's diverse electorate has played a crucial role.

Additionally, the party's strategic alliance with the JD(S) in the Bengaluru Rural constituency has paid dividends, allowing it to make inroads into a traditionally Congress-dominated region.

Furthermore, the BJP's choice of candidates, including the newcomer Shobha Karandlaje in Bengaluru North and the Vokkaliga-backed CN Manjunath in Bengaluru Rural, has resonated with the city's voters, demonstrating the party's understanding of the local dynamics and its willingness to adapt its strategy accordingly.
