Weather News: As India grapples with the onset of the summer season, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heatwave to severe heatwave conditions in several parts of the country until June 9. Additionally, an orange alert for very heavy rains has been issued in the regions of Goa, Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Assam, and Meghalaya.

Weather Forecast: Severe Heatwave Conditions In UP, MP, Bihar And Others

The weather department has predicted heatwave to severe heatwave conditions in a few parts of Uttar Pradesh and heatwave conditions in isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand on June 8 and 9. On June 6, the IMD forecast heatwave conditions in isolated pockets of Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. In Uttar Pradesh, the heatwave conditions are likely to intensify, with the possibility of severe heatwave conditions in some parts during June 7 to 9.

Yesterday, several regions across the country recorded scorching temperatures, with Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh reaching 46 degrees Celsius, Rewa in Madhya Pradesh at 45.6 degrees Celsius, Rohtak in Haryana at 45.3 degrees Celsius, Delhi's Palam at 44.4 degrees Celsius, Sriganganagar in Rajasthan at 44.4 degrees Celsius and Ludhiana in Punjab at 43.1 degrees Celsius, as per the IMD data.

Weather Today: IMD Predicts Light Rain In Mumbai And Delhi

In contrast, IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of light to moderate rain in Mumbai and its suburbs, with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively. Similarly, the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre in Delhi has forecast a partly cloudy sky, dust storms accompanied by thunderstorms, very light rain, and strong surface winds in the national capital today.

Karnataka Weather: Moderate Rain Predicted For Bengaluru And THESE Districts

Furthermore, the Karnataka Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places over the districts of Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Bagalkote, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal, Raichur, Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Ramanagara, and Tumkur.

Heavy Rain Forecast: Orange Alert Issued For Goa, Assam, Meghalaya

The IMD has also issued an orange alert for very heavy rains in Konkan and Goa on June 8 and 9, Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Karnataka on June 9 and Assam and Meghalaya on June 7 and 8. The weather office has additionally predicted isolated to scattered light to moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 km/h) over Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh during the next four days.
