Chhattisgarh Assembly Election: Poll-bound Chhattisgarh is BJP's first priority as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit Bilaspur and Bastar respectively for the third and fourth consecutive time within three months ahead of the 2023 legislative elections and 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The state which is currently ruled by the Congress, will see a close competition between the grand old party and the saffron party as the latter is actively campaigning in the state and is preparing in full swing to swipe victory.

PM Modi will be visiting Bilaspur on September 30 where he will hold rallies focussing on 24 Vidhan Sabha seats, while on October 3, he will be in Bastar targeting 12 Vidhan Sabha seats.

PM Modi In Bilaspur

In Bilaspur, PM Modi will address 24 assembly constituencies under eight districts. Currently, Congress holds 13 seats, while BJP holds seven seats. Two seats are held by Chhattisgarh Janata Congress (J) and two by Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Meanwhile, of the 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh, four are in the Bilaspur division. Of these, three seats are occupied by BJP, and one seat is held by Congress.

BJP's Stronghold Bastar

Bastar has been a stronghold for the BJP as the saffron party has won the seat six times in a row. However, during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Congress' Deepak Baij became the MP here. All the remaining 12 assembly seats falling under the Bastar division are held by Congress. This is the reason why the BJP has been holding rallies and campaigns in full swing in these two districts.

Congress' Campaign In Chhattisgarh

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday arrived in Chhattisgarh and will be launching Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Nyay Yojna (MGANY) in Bilaspur district.
