Korba Assembly Election 2023: The Korba Assembly segment went to the polls in two phases, November 7 and November 17, along with the 90 other Assembly constituencies in Chhattisgarh. The Korba Assembly constituency recorded a voter turnout of 66.77 per cent. The results for the elections will be declared on December 3 along with the results for the other three states which went to polls earlier in November. The results of the Mizoram Assembly elections will be declared on December 4.
The Korba constituency is one of the 90 Assembly constituencies in Chhattisgarh and falls under the Korba district of Chhattisgarh State. It is one of the 90 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Chhattisgarh state.
Korba Assembly Election 2023:
In the 2023 Chhattisgarh state Assembly Elections, Korba constituency is witnessing a fight between Jaisingh Agarwal of the Congress and Lakhanlal Dewangan of the BJP. The constituency comprises a total of 2,26,306 voters in the seat, which includes 1,16,141 male voters, and 1,10,143 female voters. During the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, the Korba constituency recorded a voter turnout of 71.56 per cent, while in 2013 the turnout was 69.89 per cent, and in 2008 it was 63.65 per cent.
Korba Assembly Elections 2018 and 2013:
In the 2018 Korba assembly elections, Indian National Congress candidate Jaisingh Agrawal won the seat by defeating Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Vikas Mahto with a margin of 11806 votes. In the 2013 elections, Congress’ Jai Singh Agrawal emerged as the winner of the constituency by defeating BJP’s Jogesh Lamba with a margin of 14,449 votes. Jai Singh Agrawal secured about 51 per cent of total votes, Jogesh Lamba was announced runner up with 40 per cent, and Arvind Kumar Sharma with 3 per cent vote rates.
